Everyone needs some chocolate and powdered sugar in their life and these crinkles are a must have during the holidays. They bake up perfectly "crinkled" without any effort from you! These are similar to my red velvet crinkles that I shared here, just a different flavor profile and a few more steps.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted, cooled
2 cups granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla or vanilla bean paste
4 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup powdered sugar
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare your cookie sheets by greasing with shortening or cooking spray. You can also use a silicone baking mat or parchment paper to avoid them sticking to the sheet.
In large bowl, mix oil, chocolate, granulated sugar and vanilla.
Stir in eggs, one at a time.
Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls into powdered sugar; roll around to coat and shape into balls. Place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are set. Immediately remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks.
