Everyone needs some chocolate and powdered sugar in their life and these crinkles are a must have during the holidays. They bake up perfectly "crinkled" without any effort from you! These are similar to my red velvet crinkles that I shared here, just a different flavor profile and a few more steps.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted, cooled

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla or vanilla bean paste

  • 4 eggs

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare your cookie sheets by greasing with shortening or cooking spray. You can also use a silicone baking mat or parchment paper to avoid them sticking to the sheet.

  • In large bowl, mix oil, chocolate, granulated sugar and vanilla.

  • Stir in eggs, one at a time.

  • Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

  • Drop dough by teaspoonfuls into powdered sugar; roll around to coat and shape into balls. Place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.

  • Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are set. Immediately remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks.

Have you made crinkles? What is your favorite version? Leave me a comment or drop a question for me!
