How festive are these green holiday cookies for your kid's party or a Christmas Cookie Swap? Fun centerpieces that will have everyone talking about them and asking for this easy recipe. AND these use a cake mix, so it's super quick to throw them together!! Try them and let me know what you think. Drop me a comment if you have found tips or tricks for any of my recipes!
Ingredients:
1 box French Vanilla cake mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 drop green food coloring (I always recommend Wilton's vibrant colors)
Powdered sugar, enough for dusting
Sprinkles or candies, heart shaped
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. As I always do when I'm baking cookies, prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
In the mixing bowl, cream together cake mix, food coloring, oil, and eggs.
Chill the dough for 15 minutes.
Drop by tablespoon into powdered sugar and roll into balls.
Place on baking sheet and press 1 heart candy/sprinkle into the middle of each cookie.
Bake for 8 minutes until just set.
Let cool 2 minutes on sheet to allow the cookie to finish cooking before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.
Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
Mine were eaten too quick before I could snap a photo, so I borrowed this one. You can check out her blog and recipe at inkatrinaskitchen.com along with lots of other tasty treats!
